Shahbaz Visits Ashiana housing – Aashiyana Scheme in 16 districts
LAHORE (July 1, 2011) – Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said the dream of worker, farmer, widow, orphan and a common man of having his own house has been materialized with the launching of Aashiyana Housing Project for the first time in the 63 years’ history of the country and its credit goes to Pakistan Muslim League-N.
“Work on Aashiyana Housing Schemes in Lahore, Jhelum, Sahiwal, Faisalabad and Sargodha is going on speedily whereas these schemes will be started in 16 other districts this year.
Although the schemes are for the common and poor Pakistanis yet the residential facilities in these schemes would be better than the societies of the rich people and these schemes are an important step towards transforming the country in accordance with the ideals of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal,” said Shahbaz Sharif, adding that 500 houses would be completed in the under-construction Aashiyana Housing Project in Lahore and handed over to the lucky people this month.
He also said 85 acres additional land had been acquired for the first Aashiyana housing scheme at Saroba Atari where 1500 more houses would be built. “Similarly, the land has been identified for the second Aashiyana housing scheme in Lahore where a new city consisting of 15000 houses will be established,” he added.
He was talking to mediamen on the occasion of visiting Aashiyana Housing Project Saroba Atari here on Friday. Chairman Punjab Land Development Company and Member Provincial Assembly Sh. Allaud Din informed about the progress of the project. MPAs Khawaja Imran Nazir and Mian Naseer Ahmad were also present on this occasion.
Shahbaz Sharif said launching of housing schemes, with modern residential facilities for poor and workers, was vision of Quaid PML-N Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and we had to take forward this vision by spreading the net of these schemes all over the country.
